Guest course of Dr. Ortutay
20-22. October - HiDucator's professor, Dr. Ortutay has given a guest course of phylogenetics at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest, Hungary.
The four hours of lecture and two hours of practical training was delivered for BSc students in the framework of their Introduction to bioinformatics course. The students learned about theoretical and practical aspects of the analysis of the evolution of species, genes, and proteins. During the practical session, they learned the basics of conducting sequence analysis and how to create phylogenetic trees from nocleotide and protein sequence data using the R statistical environment.
The delivered course is already the third in consequtive autumns facilitated by the connections between this esteemed University and HiDucator.
